Peroxide levels are known to be elevated in Down syndrome from BIRTH and throughout life.
A gene in the 21 Chromosome is responsible for a 50% excess production of Super Oxide Dismutase (SOD). This SOD generates an increased amount of hydrogen peroxide from readily available free radicals. In addition there is a gene in the 21st Chromosome that produces a precursor protein linked to the protein referred to in the above article. So this article has direct application to Down syndrome. It points to an opportunity for new lines of research to find a therapy to stop this degenerative disease process called Down syndrome. Some "experts" will say Down syndrome is not a disease and you have to learn to accept it and love it as if it were part of your child. In fact it is a disease process that is hurting your child every day that you do nothing. You can fight it with antioxidants, and you should support our research initiatives.

Steadily reduced mental capacity throughout life and an over 40% incidence of Alzheimer's by age 60.
That's what the future holds when we do nothing and "learn" acceptance.

A brighter future for your child - with a therapy to stop this degeneration, is what you should be fighting for.

There is no "Free Ride" by the way, so please make a financial contribution and help us with fundraising.

With your small contributions we can raise the funds required for medical research.

But if YOU don't care, why should anyone else want to help us?
