Text Box: In March 2006, the Down's Syndrome Research Foundation held an international parent and professional conference in London titled ‘Bright Beginnings’.
The conference brought together leading experts on Trisomy 21 from the USA and UK, who provided the latest on research, the need for specialist Down’s syndrome clinics and how to get them started in the UK. The Conference also gave parents, carers, doctors and other medical professionals with an interest in Down’s syndrome the opportunity to interact with our speakers and with each other.
The presentations from the Conference have been professionally edited into a set of three DVD’s, which are available as a set of three, or individual DVD’s, if required.
The DVD’s are a key resource for parents, support groups and medical professionals interested in promoting specialist Down’s syndrome Clinics across the UK. Researchers and students will find the sessions on genetic and clinical research informative. Parent support groups will also benefit from DVD 1 which shares information on running a support group and has ideas for future development.
The chance to share the latest knowledge and research into Down’s syndrome is an opportunity not to be missed by anybody interested in genetics or Trisomy 21.
