| Gluton free and casein free diet |
Trying the diet to see if there is any improvement is an easy option but do work with your doctor and keep them informed..
Also read the information on our website on Celiac disease and digestion problems and have your doctor investigate that possibility. These problems are more common in Down's syndrome.
The following message was sent to the DSRF by a parent (August 1999).
Hi!
We are pleased to announce our website for parent's who
wish to implement the gluten free and casein free diet.
Many parents have found this diet to be helpful in bringing
their children out of the spectrum of autism. A group
of over 400 parents have volunteered their time and effort
through GFCFKIDS@ONELIST to provide a comprehensive food list
and diet explanation in simple terms. The parents
have compiled many recipes, tips and links they have found to
be helpful in maintaining the diet for their children and
family.
Since April 8, 1999 we have had
over 8000 visitors to www.GFCFdiet.com
(click
here to visit the website), a testament that this information is needed and
valued. It is our prime goal to help other parents
implement and maintain this important diet for our autistic
children. Please take the time to view our website and
add it as a link to your valuable source of information for
all parents considering the diet.
Thank you,
Judy DeHart Editor, GFCFdiet
